What do you think Ms. Ariana Miyamoto as Japan's representative?

To be honest, the last class was the first time to see Arianea Miyamoto. So, I didn't think something especially when the teacher said that she is a representative of  Japanese ladys. My first impression for her were that she is actually beautiful but isn't enough to be a represantative and that she doesn't look like a Japanese. Without any knowledge about her, I should not write about her, so I researched about her a little.

Before I know her, I didn't totally agree with that she is a representative of miss universe because of her appearance. However, I changed the thought. she was born in Nagasaki and lived in there until she went to study abroad when she was 15 years old. She spent almost all part of her life in Japan and it can be said that a lady who had been brought up in Japan with Japanese since she was born have the same thought way with any other Japanese.

But this is also a fact that Ms. Ariana can not be seen exactly like a Japanese for us. This topic is so controversial tha t there are a lot of articles and video debating about her on the Internet. On youtube there are also many video and comment. In one of those, a interviewer asked "Do you want to support ArianaMiyamoto (Miss Universe Japan 2015) as Japan's representative?" to people in Japan. Most Japanese answered yes, and a lady said "Well, with regard to Japanese-ness, I felt she was quite Japanese when I saw her on TV. Likewise, if she wants to support Japan, and if she wants to make it in Japan, I would like to support her."

In the interview, about her mixed background is also asked. Many people said nealry the same with my opinion that her background is the reason she is Japanese rather than is problem. For example, a man said "I don't think the contest is just about the appearance. It's also about the kind of stuff you won't learn unless you grow up in Japan. So people shouldn't judge her solely by her appererance."

This topic may become a good oppotunity to think about some discrimination to foreigners and mixed people. I have many friends like these, and I've never looked down on or hate such people. However, I might have a little minds to see mixed people special. Because, in the video, every Japanese accept mixed people but they also recognize that there is a discrimination to some extent. through this homework, I strongly thought it is important that everyone should feel usual to be mixed people or foreigners next to us in a class. This may be the first step to make a true grobal society.

Patricia landfalled on Mexico

Scott Kelly, a NASA astronaut of the International Space Station tweeted several phones of Hurricane Patricia on Friday. It is certain that the scale of it is more catastrophic than any other ones which we experienced. I have known about the news but I didn't mentioned specially because this is that happened in the other side in the world.

These pictures made me so scared and its scale was much beyond my expectation. I also felt Patricia is beautiful weather phenomena because of her scale. However, it was not beautiful one but a terrible weather disaster on the ground.

The storm made landfall in Mexico on Friday, with winds reaching speeds of 165 mph. Hours after making landfall, the storm weakened but still packed winds of 130 miles per hour (210 km per hour). There was flooding in parts of the city, though it escaped the worst of the immensely powerful storm. Visitors and residents weathered the hurricane's onslaught in emergency shalters hoping it would not do as much damage as the last storm of this magnitude, Typhoon Haiyan , which killed thousands of people in the Phillippines in 2013. THe storm killed over 6,300people and wiped out or damaged nearly everything in its path on November. 8, 2013, destroying around 90 percent of the city of Tacloban.

About 400,000 individuals live in the areas expected to be affected. It slammed into a stretch of sparsely populated coastline near the popular beach gateway of Puerto Vallarta, where 15,000 tourists were evaluated to avoid torrential rain and potentially lether winds. In Puerto Vallarta, the heart of a string  of resorts that range from low-end mega hotels to exclusive villas attracting tech billionaires and pop stars, loudspeakers had blared orderds to evacuate hotels ahead of Patricia's arrival. The streets emptied as police wailed in anticipation of Patricia, which gathered strength suddenly on Thursday night. "Whichever way you turn, there's debris," said Juan Michel, 36, a hotel manager in the resort of  Barra de Navidad to the northwest of Manzanillo, who was taking cover from Patricia with 13 others. "We've never seen anything like this.

In such situation, Scott Kelly had just tweeted an imposed image of the giant storm from 249 miles (401 km) above Earth on the International Space Station along with the massage:"Stay safe below, Mexico."  I've never tweeted but recognized a strong impact of it, which enable to show what's happening at somewhere in the world. I was afraid of dangerous of SNS but such a speedy communication tools can be said difinitly useful for us.

What do you do to keep things whole?

I am a student of University of Tsukuba. I'm belong to a triathlon club. These are my main posision in the University. I study at classes. I run, swim and ride. When I am asked why I study everyday, I maybe answer because I wanna learn subjects about sports or I have to earn enough credit to graduate the University. Not only I but everyone also would answer likewise. But I think there is another reason. Friends, teachers are there. This is the most important motivation to do something I think. If I just want to learn and don't have a teacher, I'm enough to study by myself with some textbooks. I can say the same things about others. I practice hard not only to improve but also compete and beat rivals, including my club members. If my teammates become faster than me, I would be so motivated that I train hard and hope to win. Competing with someone is important than my improvement. It is true for competiter, too, I think. When I lose, I practice hard and I will beat someone. It means he or she come to practice hard and hope to win. In this way, someone is moved by someone and everything is rotating through people around me. My each action reflects on people like the mirror.
I see and think about people to accomplish things. I can do things because there are a lot of people around me and I believe that I can become a part of someone's motivation. I think moving thinking about someone is essential to keep whole things.

what do i desire?

Like the video, if there were no money, I don't want to work. I have a dream. No, a lot of things what I really want to do. I want to spend my life to play many out-door sports such as diving, skiing, surfing, and so on.
I had hardly been interested in them until I go to an island two years ago the summer. My friends and I went to Kozu island which is located in far south away from Tokyo. We brought a little things enough to enjoy and to survive for three days but without any foods. In Kozu island, we only did something to survive. Seeking water to drink, hunting fishes with harpoon and making fire to cook captured fishes. I did't think that I were playing at that time, I were only living, however, I was more excited than any other time. I killed a fish by myself for the first time. I aporogized to it but it was very dilicious although it was only baked and salted. I swum in the sea which is sorrounded by high criff and jumped there from about 10 meters above. When it's getting dark, I slept in a tent and I waked up with the sun rises, but I didn't think a day is short at all.Through these experiences, I came to hope to play in nature; ocean, river, forest, and sky.
After entrance exam, I earned a diving license right away and I went to Okinawa to dive in one of the most transparent ocean in the world. About fourty minutes in the sea was beyond my expectation and I felt it were only few minutes. I strongly thought this is where I really wanna stay in my life. I came to prefer nature to enclosed city in Tokyo. In the sea, I can swim with a lot of fish and feel like as if I were a member of flock, and I draft along trade toward the same direction with them. Not only feel the great ocean, I could feel myself stronger than live on the ground. My skin reacted to just a little tempereture changing. To stay in deep during heavy gravity, I need to be calm, breatahing slowly and my eyes feel more alart. I noticed that I WERE LIVING.
Through such a some playing in the nature, I learned the greatness of them what I cannot learn in a class, with a textbook. They were a great teacher for me which made me recognized my beating heart. And now, I hope that I would live with them, in them for the last time in my life. If "always" is difficilt a little, I am enough if I could play whenever I want. And I also noticed that to do whatever I want to, I need money. It cost too much money to prepare safely enough. I started this essay "if there were no money" but money do not, will not fade away in front of us after all. However, if I need money for the dream, I won't think to work is idle. I won't think it is waste of time. Whatever I do now, If I have a clear dream or I do something to dream come true, I would be in a great happy life.

Few minutes after the vidio was started, I noticed that there were only black skin students. I soon thought that this is one of the most explicit examples of segregation. I couldn't hear what they say and what had been happening in the screen first. However, I clearly    felt there was a segregation in the background. It seemed that they insisted that they weren't wrong. They only invited or enjoyed the pool. The girl who shouted and pressed down the grass looked like angry not only for police officers but for unfair discrimination widely spreaded in the U.S. The boy who got in handcuff looked as if he gave up and accept the circumstance.
Police officer's behaviours are terrible, I feel. Standard in the U.S. maybe more fierce than that of Japan. But, the police officer was obviously beyond the common sense. Japanese police officers never do such a bullish act but try to soothe if two drunkards were excited and started fighting.
I have a question more. Were the curious outlookers few though there was such a trouble, were it? Was it usual in the U.S.? Or was the usual thing is such a trouble?

American police officers often behave offensive. In contrast, I think Japanese ones are quiet a little to work as hero who protect residents. When I was a child, they were one of the my heros and a symbol of strength. I was excited and felt that I have to behave myself when I see them in the town. I don't say just about my individual opinions. I think their strong and tough images would connect to a kind of theirdignity and would reduce troubles in the town. For Japanese police officers who are difficult to even get set guns , their dignity would be very important for safety towns. Then, Japan, especially Tokyo will increase forrigners . I apprehend that the number of crimes will increase by such a visiters who surpass in built.
However, It can say that they are so kind. When I visited N.Y, American ones are not kind at all, or irritated a little. Japanese police officers, especially in police station, are always kind when I talk or greeting. Last year, DJ police became famous in Japan. They (he, maybe) were known when regulate crowded intersection in Shibuya. Their funny and kind speaking make possible to do smooth transaction and to be in a news immediately. After that, the police officer was prized by headquarters and they held DJ police competition.
Police officers are in the town to provide safe for residents. The way of this may different between Japan and America. However, this policy is common all over the world .

my memory of the 2011 Great East Japan earthquake

When I was eighth grader, in the biological experiment laboratory in my school in Tokyo, I had the biggest earthquake in my life. Water in fish tanks leaked and some experiment tools fell down the floor. About two minutes later, we stood up, then our teacher watched a news flash soon.
I thought the earthquake is a terrible disaster. However, it became a small funny day when our teacher told that we should stay there by tomorrow. For 14 years old boys, nothing is fun than staying in the school. Not delicious cookies as a dinner become delicious if we eat with friends. Thin blanket become very hot after playing with friends .
We enjoyed this rare opportunity until my parents pick my friend and me up. We didn't know what had happened in Japan, in Tohoku at all at that time. We still enjoyed an unusual day. We ate snacks and sung as if the enclosed space were a karaoke room. About 1 hours may be passed. We were so excited and continued talking and laughing .
About 2 hours had passed. We finally got tired and found that we almost at the same place as 2 hours ago.
We realized that this is an unpleased special day little by little. The car hardly proceed due to very heavy traffic jam. It took 1hours to proceed 1 km. Most of the streets in Tokyo fell of innumerable cars. Hundreds of people walked for hours. Train had stopped, so a lot of people couldn't go back home in Tokyo. When I arrived my home, I was so exhausted and it had passed more than 6 hours.
After deep asleep, I saw unbelievable scenes on TV. Everything is beyond my experiences. I called my grandmother who lives in Yamagata next to Miyagi. In Yamagata, no electronics had provided since the earthquake. They stayed all night below the freezing point without any heaters. To the worst, heavy snowfall hit Tohoku next day. I was irritated to have nothing  to do for suffering people.
Some friends and I started correcting anything what they had used or already don't need from neighbors. Shoes, clothes, daily necessities, and some donated foods like canned foods. We finally corrected more than 200 items incruding message cards what children in the kindergarten wrote.
  "Gambatte! "
  "Ouenshitemasu!"
Every cards were filled with many heartful words. Everyone who came hoped that Tohoku come back as soon as possible.
I started this volunteer hoping to it would help people in Tohoku  first. But, I realized that this project become for not between Tohoku people and I, but for everyone who took part in. Through the project, I found great bond between Tohoku people and my neighbours nneighbours and I , and my friend and I.

3.11 is unforgettable day. many people had died or displaced. But there was good memories, too. I didn't know that we are all connected everywhere and everytime. We want to forget the sadness. However, we never forget the bond forever. With the strong power, we and Japan will accomplish everything.

If I were the opposite sex

At 7 a.m, I woke up and found that something is wrong with myself. I touched  my body. I had breast and long hair, but lost muscles and views from high position, and a very important part between legs. I was a female. I were confused, but excited a little. A funny strange day had begun.

I shout to mom and be surprised again. I had a high tone voice. I was happy because I could sing Taylor Swift.
Then, I watched a mirror and checked my face with humming "trouble". I was so cute, of course. I was pleased my face, especially long eyelashes. Then, I serected what I wear today. It was fun to think what suits me, but wearing a skirt wasn't good because it was as if I wear nothing.
At 8 a.m, a happy breakfast had been supposed to start, but it wasn't. My stomach came to be so small.I was disappointed and go out with full though I don't feel like eating much.

Where should a teen girl go to? I had no hesitate but went to Harajuku. I went shopping, ate pancake as a lunch and went a theater where held The Girl's Day. Why I took such a long time to make decisions? Why I was enough such a sweet lunch? Why I was moved and cried soon? I didn't notice them at that time, but, it was because I was a girl.

In afternoon, I had a triathlon training. Fitst, swimming. Of course, I couldn't swim as I wanted to. I had to breathe air more frequent than usual, and I couldn't crawl powerful. I struggled with unusual body, but thanks to much fat, I could float easily. The next was bike. What I was surprised most was that it wasn't painful to sit on a hard saddle long time. At last, I ran 5km. It wasn't difficult than thr others. Actually, I couldn't strong step, but Iight body helped to run smoothly.

It was so massive day that I am still excited in my bed now. There were a lot of differences between usual i and today's one for better or worse. I'm confused, too. Which will I wake up tomorrow, as a male or a female? I, of coutse, prefer to male, but it was fun today. I can't sleep!!

This is a imaginary diary as you know.

Controversial Topics

Animal Experiment

People has been hoping to know what they are and cure themselves, and studied ourselves for a long time, sometimes, with animals. For more than 2000 years, before Aristotle was born, it is said that animal experiments had started and it means that history of anti-animal experiments had started simultaneously.
About 350 B.C, some philosopher seemed to be allowed to dissect mankind by kings. Of course, some people opposed to, but point of argument was whether dissection was able to gain appropriate results or not.
More than 100 years later, the moral, finally, came to be discussed. However, people couldn't find the answer. One king allowed to dissect daed bodies. Some kings never permitted hurting lives, others admitted, to some extent, animals only. In ancient Roma, dissecting dogs was one of the amusement. In a family, the father was scientist and dissected, but his wife and his daughter established animal welfare organization. They probably couldn't endure to see suffering animals. Animal welfare always has been insisted where scientists use animals.

However closely I learn about the issue, I cannot get an answer which opinion is right, so I introduce each claim.
First, about right of animals. Anti-animal experiments say that killing animals is equal to kill people. If they did't die, they must be suffered by strict experiments. Almost all of animals that were rescued Orangutan have from enclosed cage  were frightened to contact people. Then, those who are killed are robbed their last lives by people. Every animal are entitled to enjoy each lives like us. However, scientists insist that they protect animal right as possible as they can. They say that killing animals to study needs to mankind. Thanks to such experiments, many medicines were made and many people who suffer from uninvestigated diseases. Not to make animals suffered, they use anesthesia and select euthanasia if animals come to suffering. Then, not to rob animals lives, scientists breed dedicated subjects like rats without fur.
Second, about merit of animal experiments. People who oppose to the experiments think mankinds and the other animals are different, so it cannot gain enough date. For example, HIV virus investigation had held with apes. But, It was discovered that mankinds and apes has another reaction to the virus. And no matter how hard they use animals, they finally need clinical experiments. Many clinical experiments have been held without any confidence not to die or suffer subjects by the experiment. Thus, what make anti-animal experiments offrnd is to make cosmetics. Rats' skin had used to examine effects to use cosmetics. In this point, Japanese government banned already. About clinical experiments , they need to reduce any risks. So, they insist that to avoid exposing people to danger, it is important to use animals which is similar to mankinds. Orangutan's DNA has same more than 99.9% with mankinds. Experiments  with orangutans and another apes helped to improve chemotherapy for cancers.
Third, about rules. Scientists are accused that they are allowed to kill animals freely. And government overlooks their outrageous deads. In addition, such experiments are thought unplanned and trusting to chance. Their claims are partly correct. Actually, scientists are allowed to kill some animals but  they had already investigated what will be expucted in the experiments in the view of many scientific points. After the strict investigation, they offre to the government and schemes are checked again. Then, they finally be able to start the experiments, but scientists still conscious to  animals. Then, new slogan"3R" is now used. First "R" is Replacement to animals that are far from mankinds. The second one is Reduction numbers of subjects. The last one is Refinement to reduce pain of subjects and improve the environment of experiments center.

As I said, each opinion has valid ground and seems to be correct each other. Maybe we cannot find the answer forever, but I think animal experiments are valid now. Through the study, I thought that killing or hurting animals in experiments is needed to save people like we eat fish and pigs to survive. If you say that breeding dedicated subjects is illegal, how about livestock? Life to bear eggs is immoral? Scientists seem to protect rights of animals as possible as they can. I felt that anti-animal experiments have to judge the issue more calm. Assault the HIV experiments factory is clearly beyond moral and rules of people. Actually, killing animals is not good, but if I were anti-animal experiments, I won't assault the laboratory. I would seek the way to do experiments without animals. I think ghis is one of the resistance and I strongly hope it comes true.

Another Country 's Food

A dining table reflects the country's background; culture, geological features, history, and so on. Palau, a rice-using food, is widely eaten in Afghanistan. It is similar to Palo, a dish of Iran where southwest of Afghanistan. Then, there are the other Palo in west of China and Ploff in Uzbekistan. Every dishes are made from rice, but northwest Palau has sharp smell of spice like Iranian Palo and southwest one includes a lot of callots like Chinese one.  I think you have already notice that four dishes have similar name though each countries has respective mother tongue.

Like that, learning Afghan background is the first step to search Afghan cuisine.
Afghanistan is located in Central Asia and surrounded by six countries; Iran, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and China. Such geological features appear in similar names.
Many years ago, Afghanistan was on the way of Silk road and connects Europa and China and India. A lot of new foods were imported and especially, spice and fresh fruits came to be used in dishes. For example, kebab and sabab which called salad in English.
About 1900, border was lined by UK and several tribes are in Afghanistan. "Ashu" officially indicates noodles dish in Afghanistan. However, Oshu is a rice dish in a north tribe, Aeshi is a thin bread in a west tribe. Some tribes who emigrate to Eastern Africa call a dish like dango in Japan "Ashiide".
One of the main indstries in Afghanistan is daily farming. So, yogurt is widely used in dishes. They eat naan with yogurt called paahi in there, Ashack made from tomato source and "gurt", a dry yogurt.

Many cultures, tribes and farming, in addition, it's mountainous region have generated a lot of dishes. We probably cannot define what Afghan cuisine is, but this is it, I think. It's variety may be the greatest point of the country. I hope a day when we can go there easily and taste Afghan dishes will come.

Food for Athletes ; Peanuts, The Best Friend of Athletes

How do you think to eat peanuts? Is it not good because they include much fat? Do their high calories make us unhealthy? Actually, peanuts used to be considered as unhealthy foods. However, a lot of American scientists exploded the theory since 2000. In 21century, peanuts became very healthy foods.

One of the reasons why peanuts was not healthy foods was their plenty of fat. It was said that we gain weight when we eat them. However, The Peanut Institute proved peanuts' fat is good for health. Their fat, which is called Unsaturated Fatty Acid; 不飽和脂肪酸 in Japanese, contains Oleic Acid. They help to decrease body fat, so some athletes who have to lose weight may be helped greatly. Of course, women who struggle to lose weight will be helped, too.
Then, I have another reason to respect them for such an athletes. Latest studies proved that we seem to feel full if we eat them in the morning. Our brains seem to be decieved easily by their particular chemicals. However, let  alone, you should not eat them a lot.
I already be able to insist that peanuts are now healthy food. But, I can list more merits.
Do you know arginine!? this spread vein and encourage to carry oxygen to body from head to toe.
Then, they have good prptein, too. Their ones easy to be absorbed than rice and pasta and they contain much prothan any other nuts.
In addision, peanuts contain vitamin B, zinc, iron and so on.

For athletes, eating is not only pleasure but job frequently. For example, they have to supply enough energy quickly between races. Like this situation, peanuts' high fat and calories will them. They contains about 600kcal per 100g while rice contains 167kcal. It is said that more than half of top 20 foods which contains much calories are peanuts and
their same kinds. It is obvious that peanuts and their kinds are the most high calories food for good or ill. Athletes often buy and eat energy bars, but we may be able to buy peanuts cheaper.

If you afraid of their digest efficiency, and you cannot eat a lot, I recommend to eat peanut butter. You will supply more easy and more efficient. Many top athletes have already adopt them as supply food. However, be careful not to eat what contains much additive. Some of them are made from much addictive component such as arartificial sweetener and they become very very unhealthy food.

From such points, we can evaluate peanuts are specific friend of athletes and peanuts butter is the best supply food. Why don't you eat them before tomorrow's training ?
